Rosie’s Big Swim at Lake Tikitapu
At One Day School, we love seeing students take on challenges and push themselves beyond the known. Rosie did just that during her open-water swim at Lake Tikitapu, showing focus, endurance, and determination.
Rosie set out to swim across the lake and back - a huge challenge requiring both physical and mental strength. She swam past nine buoys before reaching the far shore then returning back unassisted, proving just how much confidence and skill she has built over the season.
Throughout the swim, her coach, Maxine Parker, was by her side for guidance and reassurance. Another key mentor, Coach Kerris Browne, has also played an important role in helping Rosie develop the confidence to take on this challenge. With their support and Rosie’s own determination, she was able to reach her goal.
Open-water swimming is no small feat - it takes preparation, resilience, and a strong mindset. Rosie’s success is a great reminder of what’s possible with dedication and a great support crew.
