Archer Reaches New Heights

At One Day School, we encourage pushing the boundaries - not just in the classroom but in our students’ hobbies and beyond. One of our students, Archer, put his skills to the test on a national stage, and we couldn't be more proud of his achievement!

On Saturday, the 29th March, Archer traveled to Tūrangi to compete in the La Sportiva National Lead and Top-rope Championship, representing the Rotorua Climbing Club. Facing off against some of the best young climbers in the country, Archer tackled challenging routes with determination, strategy, and a strong mindset. His hard work paid off - he won 1st place in the Male U11/Youth E category!

Competitive climbing is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. With every reach, grip, and step, Archerplanned his moves carefully while pushing his strength and endurance to the limit. It was in the final climb of the day that he truly shined - he reached more holds than any other competitor in his category, earning the top spot on the podium.

Archer's success is a testament to what happens when talent meets dedication. Whether it’s in academics, sports, or something else we encourage all our students to embrace challenges, push their limits beyond the known, and enjoy the journey of learning.

Congratulations, Archer, you’ve set the bar high, and we can’t wait to see where your passion takes you next!
