Launchpad One Day School is a dedicated programme created for gifted learners who thrive in environments that challenge and inspire them.
Students join us one day each week at our learning space on Hinemoa Street, Rotorua, where they experience a bespoke curriculum designed to meet their unique needs. Our approach combines choice, challenge, collaboration, and creativity, offering rich opportunities to unlock exceptional talents and abilities.
Beyond academics, Launchpad One Day School nurtures social and emotional growth, helping students develop self-awareness and teamwork skills. We believe gifted learners flourish in dedicated spaces - growing in confidence, curiosity, and capability - qualities that empower them to thrive now and in the future.

Our programme.
A Day at Launchpad One Day School.
A day at Launchpad One Day School is very different to a day at regular school. We have three main blocks in our day that link to the three strands of our curriculum:
Brain Gain
Strength within
Superpower Surge
Brain Gain encompasses advanced academic learning through problem solving, STEM challenges, philosophical discussions and debates, investigation and inquiry, and tasks that teach and encourage deep and complex thinking.
Strength Within is all about social and emotional learning, and enables students to develop an understanding of themselves as gifted people, empowering their learning strategies, interpersonal relationships, and well-being. Leadership, teamwork and collaboration, and executive functioning skills are all integrated into Strength Within.
Superpower Surge involves students growing their strengths and talents. They work in chosen talent areas to explore, learn authentic skills, and then apply them creatively in real-world projects.
These three components are combined in this way to facilitate the holistic development of our gifted learners.
