  • Yes, families pay an annual fee of $200.00 ($50.00 per term) to cover resources. Participating schools incur no cost.

Additional funding is graciously provided by Launchpad.

  • One Day School works in partnership with your child’s school, offering a flexible schedule where they attend One Day School one day a week while continuing with their regular school on the other days. For example, your child may attend One Day School every Wednesday throughout the term, while going to their regular school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

  • While the majority of our students live in or around Rotorua, we do have some students who commute from nearby towns. We do not apply a geographic zone for One Day School Rotorua.

If your child is offered a place at One Day School Rotorua, it is important that they can attend regularly to realise the full benefits of the opportunity.

  • One Day School follows the regular school term schedule. We have 2 assessments each year - the first towards the end of Term 2, and the second around the beginning of Term 4.

    • The assessment for the mid-year intake (students joining at the beginning of Term 3 of the same academic year) will be towards the end of Term 2.

    • The assessment for the new year intake (students joining at the start of the next academic year) will take place in the first few weeks of Term 4.

You will be notified of specific application deadlines once you have submitted an expression of interest. See more on our application process.

  • One Day School caters to children between the age of 6-12 years old. Once your child has been offered a place, they will be able to attend as long as they are still benefitting from the programme, up until the end of year 8.

  • Your child would attend for or one full school day every week (with their principal's permission). While we do generally group classes in age categories, with one class operating per day, we do try to take student’s preferences for particular days into account where we can.

  • The application process starts with an expression of interest. This can come from a parent caregiver, teacher or principal. Once we receive this, we will be in touch ahead of the next available in-take to arrange an assessment.

See more information on our application process.
